"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit"
1 Corinthians 12:4
As you consider how you can maximize your gifts to serve the Lord at Orchard, you may face one very common temptation. You might think you do not have much to offer, and that the Holy Spirit works through others with more "prominent" gifts. I want you to consider something important from the earliest days of God's people:
Exodus 31:1-5:  'The LORD said to Moses, “See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, to work in every craft.'
Did you know this is the very first time the Bible mentions anyone being "filled with the Spirit"? I find it instructive that he is not a priest. He is not a prophet. He is not a king. He is Bezalel - one who does manual labor! The Lord filled him with the Spirit for his task to serve with his hands!
Our Lord Jesus was a teacher and a prophet, but above all he was a SERVANT who not only washed his disciples' feet, but gave his life as a ransom for many. It has been argued that the gift of service may be closest to the heart of the Savior.

Fan into flame the gift of God! Put up your sail at full mast and experience the powerful wind of the Holy Spirit!
And be filled with his joy!
