God Has a Plan, Even When We Feel Forgotten
Gen. 40:1-23

Joseph now finds himself in prison for doing the right thing when he rejected the advances of Potiphar’s wife (Gen 39). But he must be wondering why God’s plan includes his current incarceration. As it turns out, Joseph is joined by two other officials of Pharaoh’s court—a baker and cupbearer. These officials each have a dream that Joseph interprets. One gets good news, the other bad. But God has Joseph in this position for a reason. Sometimes, God has us in uncomfortable places also for his purpose. Even when we feel forgotten, God is still at work in our lives.
1. The Baker and Cupbearer: “I had a dream.” (40:1-8)
2. Joseph: “I have good news and bad news for you.” (40:9-19)
3. Joseph left alone and forgotten (40:20-23)
