- The Lord was with him (v 2, 21, 23)
- Enjoyed special blessing and success (v 3, 5)
- His reaction to temptation (v 8)
- Respect for his Master’s trust & reverential fear of God (v 8, 9)
- Did not put himself in path of further temptation (v 10)
- Fled from evil (v 12)
- Suffered wrongfully (v 20)
- Place of affliction set the stage for coming exaltation (chap 41)
Joseph foreshadows Messiah who came to earth, honored by the Father, tempted by the devil, rejected by his brethren , falsely accused, and suffered in the lowest place. However the day came when Joseph was exalted and the “Revealer of Secrets” saved the nation…just so Jesus Christ has been highly exalted as the victor over death and saves all that will come to him in faith.
