A Better Body Awaits

1 Cor 15:36-49

1. The Christian’s Better Body Described

• Like a planted seed (15:36-37)

• Designed by God (15:38-39)

• A better body (15:40-43)

• Energized by God’s Spirit and fit for heaven (15:44-49)

1. Like Christ’s Resurrected Body (15:48-49)

        “Jesus Christ will transform our lowly body to be like his

              glorious body” (Philippians 3:21)

• A recognizable body (Luke 24:31)
• A “touchable” body with flesh and bones (Luke 24:39, John 20:17, Matthew 28:9)
• Able to eat (Luke 24:42)
• Free from natural laws of this life (John 20:28, Luke 24:31)
• “A man from heaven” (1 Corinthians 15:48-49)

Let’s give more effort to wearing out this body serving Jesus rather than preserving it for ourselves.

Let’s endure scars, disabilities, decline and chronic pain knowing they will be banished for good.

      Let’s praise a God who is “fitting us for heaven” -

         not just “taking us” there.
