Suffering in this life is inevitable. And we often struggle to find comfort in our suffering. But the Bible promises us strength for the challenges in life, not serenity in our leisure. We learn that the joy of the Lord is not our ease, our wealth, our health, or our happiness. The joy of the Lord is our strength. Our comfort comes from God’s strength.
