TRUSTING GOD IN THE WILDERNESS

March 11, 2018 Preacher: Rick Carmickle Series: EXODUS

Passage: Exodus 15:22– 17:7

“Trusting God in the Wilderness”

Exodus 15:22 – 17:7
Rick Carmickle

March 11, 2018

God protected the Israelites from the Egyptian army as he led them through the Red Sea. Their response was one of celebration, singing, and dancing (Ex. 15:1-21). Sometimes we think that is how our life should be!
But their deliverance from Egypt took them to the desert. Their time in the wilderness is only beginning. Through difficult circumstances, they will slowly learn what it means to trust God to supply their daily needs.
The Israelites celebrated God as their Savior and Deliverer with the Exodus from Egypt. They will now learn what it means to submit to God as Lord as God leads them to the promise land.

Lessons from the Desert

1. Bitter Water Made Sweet (Ex. 15:22-27)
Don’t be bitter, be blessed

2. Bread from Heaven (Ex. 16:1-36)
Don’t grumble, just trust

3. Water from the Rock (Ex. 17:1-7)
Don’t test God, but believe in “the Rock”
