THE PASSOVER: HOW GOD RESCUES US
Passage: Exodus 11:1–12:32
“The Passover: How God Rescues Us”
Exodus 11:1 – 12:32

God called Moses to demand the release of the Israelites from Egypt. When Pharaoh refused, God brought nine plagues against Pharaoh and the Egyptians (Ex. 7-10). But Pharaoh remained obstinate and would not let the Israelites go. The tenth plague would come with devastating loss (Ex. 11). The first-born of every family would suffer death in the morning.
But God provided a way of escape for Israel from this harm through the Passover lamb (Ex. 12). The Passover lamb foreshadows “Christ, our Passover lamb, who has been sacrificed for us” (1 Cor 5:7). God would “pass over” those who are protected by the blood of the lamb.
1. The Tenth Plague: Death of the Firstborn (Exodus 11)

2. The Passover: Saved by the Blood of the Lamb (Ex 12:1-32)
“And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt” (Ex. 12:13)
3. Behold the Lamb of God
