Sustained in Suffering

suffering
Dear brothers and sisters, we find ourselves wrestling with the suffering that God has allowed to the Williamson family this week, through the loss of their beautiful six-year-old daughter, Lydia. And as part of the body of Christ, "if one member suffers, all suffer together" (1 Cor 12:26). In your suffering, you may find yourself asking agonizing "why" questions.
We need to hear from God's Word now more than ever, to encourage us and show us how to cling to Him in the midst of our pain. Did you know that the longest passage of God speaking in the Bible, is to a man enduring great suffering, in Job chapters 38 - 41? God cares for the suffering soul more than anyone else. The elders at Orchard strongly encourage you to set aside an hour, to listen to this powerful opening of the book of Job, by C.J. Mahaney. The sermon originally was presented at a conference for pastors but is equally applicable to each of you today. May God's Word bring you hope and healing today.
