It may come as a surprise that we do have an official view on the subject of home schooling, Christian schooling, or public schooling.

Various quotes

This time of year is better than most for becoming intentional with neighborhood evangelism.

Praying in Jesus' Name...

Pray, Plan, Follow Through and repeat.

For many Christians, a primary reason evangelism is intimidating is that they do not have a context to share their faith.

Each year the elders select areas of focus, in prayerful consideration of how the Lord is leading us as a church in obedience to Him. Our two areas for 2016 are outreach and holiness.

Let's recognize there are people all around us created in the image of God - just like you and me. They may be interesting or they may be strange - just like you and me. They may have problems in their marriage, problems in their jobs, problems with their kids - just like you and me. And they desperately need Jesus… (Just like you and me)

Proverbs 4:23 "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."

Matthew 9:36 says of the way Jesus saw people, "When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd."

God desires that we pray for the progress of the gospel.

Maybe some of the people in your life who aren't Christians would welcome the conversation about eternity, Jesus, the Bible or church?

As we seek out and pray for the lost, consider these 5 penetrating questions.

Imagery is powerful. It enhances and sometimes communicates more thoroughly than only words.

I am an introvert. Maybe you are too. Have you ever felt you are at a disadvantage when it comes to evangelism? You are not alone. Here are five suggestions for helping introverts thrive in evangelism from Adam McHugh's book "Introverts in the Church"

Most every one of us at LBC (and evangelical churches) know that they should share their faith. Most of us know a verse or two and believe that the results are in God's hands. Yet few of us share as often as we should (myself included). It's not a lack of knowledge, but a lack of perspective - it is simply not in the forefront of our minds.

The Prayer Log

Morning Dedication

Matthew 5:14 You are the light of the world, a city on a hill cannot be hidden. Eph 5:8 For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.

Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.

Matthew 5:13: You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.

“Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?’ Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, ‘Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.’ Jesus said to her, ‘Mary.’ She turned and said to him in Aramaic,’Rabboni!’ (which means Teacher).”

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility

I may wonder what kind of mission God has for me, when I should be asking what kind of me God wants for his mission.

Is John 3:16 an extreme verse?

By God's grace, Orchard Bible Church will launch THIS Sunday!

The Horror of Shipwreck

Pursuing holiness: Is Jesus knocking at your door?

We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. (1 John 5:19)
